KEY OBJECTIVES
A Steady Hand to Steer a Leading Council
Stability, collaboration and shared goals; we are stronger and smarter together

Council needs a steadying influence at the helm. I want less division and controversy and no stunts. I want less waste, more value for money and better use of our resources. I want to lead a council that will listen to and act in the best interests of our community.

Why me
-
While on Council I have observed a community who feel they are no longer heard or respected. This needs to change.
-
I have also observed the wealth of talent, experience and wisdom in our residential and business community and the passion people have for Subiaco. I believe an approach to issues that hears and benefits from these voices and ideas.
-
I have been on Council since 2017. Anyone from outside, no matter their professional or life experience, will take time to familiarise themselves with the issues and to integrate with the rest of Council. I am ready now.
How we’ll do it
-
Looking to the residential and business communities to tap into the immense well of talent, skill sets and goodwill to shape better solutions to issues. And more informally, hosting regular ‘coffees with the Council’, similar to the City of Perth’s recent initiative.
-
Cultural change across the organisation: The City as a service provider, and community as our ‘customers’.
-
Develop a 100 day plan to put the Council and City on a path to improvement.
-
Regular meetings with the CEO and Councillors to understand local issues and share the load.
-
Councillor workshops beginning with a timeslot allocated to Councillor issues/ideas/initiatives.
